Hey all! My name is Tony Braithwait and I am currently employed by Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools in Wilber, Nebraska. I am currently the special education director, and I previously taught K-6 elementary special education at Wilber-Clatonia. I previously taught K-5 special education at Cross County Community Schools in Stromsburg, Nebraska for five years. I also previously taught high school special education for one year at Arapahoe Public Schools in Arapahoe, Nebraska. I graduated in May of 2011 from Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, with a dual endorsement in K-12 Special Education and K-8 Elementary Education. I played basketball at Dana College before transferring to Midland University to complete my degree when Dana College closed its doors in June of 2010. I am currently in the process of completing my Education Specialist degree. As you will see from my family bio information, I come from a family of teachers.
I am originally from Arapahoe, Nebraska, and come from a family of teachers. Before he retired, my father was an Elementary Principal and then the K-12 Principal at Arapahoe Public Schools for 20 years following his 15 years as a P.E. teacher. He could not stay away from education and is currently the 7-12 principal at Wallace Public Schools. Before my mother retired, she worked as a teller at the local bank, where she had been employed for 25 years. I have two sisters and a brother, all which are in education. My older sister was an elementary teacher for 20 years before changing her role to a special education teacher this year in Kearney, Nebraska. My older brother teaches Health and is the Activities Director at North Platte St. Patrick’s High School in North Platte, Nebraska. My younger sister is a 3rd grade teacher at North Platte St. Patrick's McDaid Elementary. I was married to my wife, Megan, in May 2015, and she is also in education, where she is the elementary librarian and media specialist at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. Megan and I have a 7 year old son, Grayson, and a 2 year old daughter, Kinsley.
Justin Petersen is the superintendent at Wiber-Clatonia Schools. Mr. Petersen has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he also has a Bachelor’s in PK-12 Special Education from Peru State College. He got his Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees from Wayne State College. Mr. Petersen started teaching at Yutan Public Schools as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. He then moved into the Activities Director/Transportation Director for the final 3 years at Yutan. He was also the Head Boys Basketball coach for 6 of the 7 years at Yutan Public Schools. Mr. Petersen’s educational journey then took him to Broken Bow Public Schools for 3 years where he was the SPED Director and served the final 2 years as the Elementary Principal. Mr. Petersen is married to Brittany. They have three boys Jase, Mack and Brye. Mr. Petersen enjoys spending time with his family at different activities in the Wilber and Clatonia communities. Mr. Petersen also enjoys a good round of golf when there is time.
Matt Zajicek
Family: My wife, Alicia, and I are very excited for our family to all be a part of the Wilber-Clatonia Community. My wife, Alicia, is currently a Speech-Language Pathologist within the Wilber-Clatonia Schools. We have two children, Aiden and Brynn who are also very humbled to be a part the Wolverine Family and Traditions.
Hometown: I am originally from Beatrice, Nebraska. My parents still live there so it's nice that we are close enough to visit when we are able.
Hobbies: I enjoy several different hobbies such as attending sporting events, hunting, fishing, listening to audiobooks, and staying active (running, lifting, and playing sports with my kids). I also enjoy attending the different activities that our kids are involved in, which keeps both my wife and me extremely busy most of the time.
Professional Experience: I started my teaching and coaching career in 2001 within Lincoln Public Schools and have moved around throughout LPS to many different middle schools and high schools throughout the last eighteen years. My first administrative job was at Park Middle School in 2019 within Lincoln Public Schools as an Instructional Coordinator and then onto being the Student Services Coordinator in 2020.

I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree, endorsed in Physical Education and Health K-12.
I graduated with my Masters of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
I am extremely honored and humbled to serve the Wilber-Clatonia community, and look forward to working with our students, staff, and community members this year and in the future!
Christine Radcliff is the Elementary Principal at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. This is Mrs. Radcliff's fifth year with the district, as she joined W-C in 2013. Prior to taking the Elementary Principal role in Wilber, Mrs. Radcliff served the student's of the Fremont Public School District for five years and McCool Junction Public School for six years.
Throughout her roles as both teacher and coaches, she learned the importance of building relationships with each and every individual involved in a program to truly build success from the foundation up. She also believes in a collaborative team approach to help all students find a their own path towards a positive and effective educational experience.
Mrs. Radcliff is married to junior high math/english teacher & softball coach, Mark Radcliff. Together they have two boys who also attend Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. If you don't find the Radcliff's at a Wilber-Clatonia school function they are probably visiting family, as Christine comes from a large family in the Clarkson and Howells area!
Shannon Furstenau is the High School Principal at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. Mrs. Furstenau has been in education since 2003 and has experienced a variety of school settings. Before becoming an administrator, she was a science teacher with three years experience in private elementary schools, ten years in the alternative school in Freemont Public Schools, and four years at Dawes Middle School in Lincoln. She began her administrative career at Waverly High School as the Assistant Principal for two years. Mrs. Furstenau has earned a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State, and her Administrative Certificate from Wayne State College.
Throughout her experience as a teacher and as an administrator, Mrs. Furstenau has had the opportunity to see the impact that strong positive relationships with students and staff have on student achievement and school climate. When all members of the school feel seen, heard, and valued, the school is able to accomplish amazing things. She believes in spending time getting to know all of the staff and students and understands the importance of family support in boosting student success.
Mrs. Furstenau is married to Ken Furstenau, business teacher and FBLA sponsor. They have two sons, Jackson and Carter. Both sons have completed their high school education. Carter is spending a year in Sweden as an exchange student and Jackson lives and works in Duluth, Minnesota. During school breaks the Furstenau's enjoy heading to Lake Superior to see Jack and to relax by the lake. Mrs. Furstenau enjoys reading, being outside, hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is excited to begin at Wilber and looks forward to getting to know the families and staff that make up the school community.
