Parents/Guardians,
It isn't easy to understand all that is in today's digital world. It is incredibly challenging to understand all the nuances and issues that can arise for our students and you as parents regarding our children's appropriate use of social media platforms within this ever-changing technology world.
Do you want to understand better how to teach your child to safely navigate the challenging world of the internet and social media on their cell phones and computers? Do you want to know what you should all be looking for as your child uses their cell phone and computer? Then, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to attend an informational parent meeting provided by the Child Advocacy Center right here at Wilber-Clatonia High School.
On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 5:30-7:30 pm in the High School Auditorium, Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools has arranged for the Child Advocacy Center to help provide some guidance to our parents on how they can best gain a grasp on the current technology world of today and all that our kids are dealing with when it comes to social media, cyberbullying, and more.
If you have any questions or want more information regarding this great opportunity and all that it entails, please reach out to Mrs. Amie Albrecht or the Elementary/Middle/High School Administration. Again, don't miss out on this great opportunity to better understand how we can help our kids safely navigate our challenging and scary technology world.

Wolverine Parents/Guardians,
Let me first say that I am excited to be back at school following winter break. I enjoy time with my family and friends, but I also always look forward to coming back to school. I can’t express how lucky I feel with the staff and students of Wilber Clatonia. I love greeting students in the morning, seeing them in the hallways, in classrooms, and giving them grief at lunch.
The start of a semester is always a great time to implement any changes. With that said I want to explain two changes that will take place this semester starting January 16th. The first change is that breakfast for Middle School and High School students will be served from 7:40 to 8:00 AM just like on the elementary side. This means that the school doors to the secondary side of the building will open up at 7:40 so that students can come in to eat breakfast in the commons. Breakfast will stop being served at 8:00 AM. Please encourage your student to arrive a few minutes earlier than normal if they would like to get breakfast at school. (Just to clarify, breakfast will no longer be served during advisory.)
The second change will be in how we use advisory. Starting on January 16th, students that are failing one or more courses will be assigned an intervention study hall during advisory to get help from their teacher. For example, if a student is failing English 9 when the credit list is run on Monday morning, they will be notified of the failing grade and informed of the location of the intervention study hall for Tuesday through Friday of that week. Tuesday through Friday the student would then attend the English intervention study hall supervised by an English teacher. The hope is that with the extra help, the student will be removed from the credit list the following week and will return to their original advisory. If a student is on the credit list for more than one class, they will be assigned interventions for core classes first. If work is completed during the week to raise their grade, they will then begin working on another course. Students assigned an intervention study hall will not be permitted to use their phone during advisory so that they can maximize their time. This change is what prompted the change in breakfast. In the past, breakfast was served during advisory. Inorder to maximize intervention time with students, we moved breakfast to before school.
The staff and I are hopeful that if we utilize the time we have built into the school day to support students we should see a decrease in missing assignments and failing grades. If you have any questions about this plan, please let me know.

The Boys JV team will kick things off for the Wolverines starting at 2:00 pm. (Note: Boy's JV will only play two quarters due to injuries and illness for Southern, and our Girl's JV team will not play a game today due to Southern not having enough players to field a team.)
