Wolverine Students, Staff, Parents, and Fans,
We want to congratulate our wrestling coaches and team on advancing to the Nebraska State Wrestling Dual Championships on Saturday, February 3rd, at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney, NE. This is an amazing accomplishment for our wrestlers and coaches and an exciting time for our two communities and school.
Today, February 2nd, our coaches and wrestling team will travel to Kearney. Before beginning their journey to Kearney, we want to ensure the team and coaches are ready. So we are going to need your help. We will send them off with a "Championship Walk" throughout Wilber-Clatonia schools.
Students throughout all buildings will line the hallways to help cheer/encourage our wrestlers and coaching staff as they begin their journey for Kearney.
The walk will start at 2:15 pm by Door 22 in the 3rd-grade hallway.
Cheerleaders will cheer and lead the wrestlers and coaches down the walk throughout the building.
The wrestlers and coaches will walk toward the elementary library from Door 22 and turn right toward the building's elementary commons and the high school side. They will enter the hallway by Mrs. Shea's office and head straight until reaching Mr. Martin's room. The wrestlers will then turn left and head past the high school computer lab head towards Mr. Bate's room and then half circle around in the small high school commons and head back towards the high school's large commons, and everyone will congregate to allow the athletes and coaches to speak should they want to.
The high school band will play the school fight song by the main office as the players move through the hallways.
The elementary school will be playing the school fight song over the loudspeakers.
Parents who want to join us at the school can line the lockers in the high school's large commons on the North end.
A bus motorcade will leave the High School at (6:30 pm, Friday) which will be accompanied by a police escort down Shimerda Street, down State Highway 41 East (East 3rd Street), and turn on State Highway 103 North (Main Street) out of town towards Crete.
We highly encourage those of you to line East 3rd Street downtown to help with traffic overcrowding at the school.
Let's provide an outstanding experience for our wrestlers and coaches as they leave and prepare for the State Wrestling Dual Championships in Kearney. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this information, please do not hesitate to call the high school activities department. Thank you again for your continued support, and let's cheer on our wrestling team and coaches to victory as they embark on their quest to capture a state championship.
Wolverine PRIDE,
Wilber-Clatonia Activities Department
